FACES OF AMSTERDAM

Faces of Amsterdam is a portrait project celebrating creative men connected to Amsterdam — those who live here, create here, pass through, or simply draw inspiration from the city’s unique energy.

It’s about the artists, dreamers, musicians, designers, entrepreneurs, and free spirits who bring something meaningful into the lives of others simply by being unapologetically themselves.

Through intimate portraits and honest storytelling, this project captures the individuality, creativity, and human connection that make Amsterdam such a vibrant and inspiring place.

Every face has a story. Every encounter leaves a mark.

And Faces of Amsterdam is here to celebrate the people who make this city feel alive.

QUINTEN WILLEMSEN

My name is Quinten and I'm currently in training to become a funeral director. My dream would be to combine my visual design skills with my gastronomy background and make a celebration out of someone final honor. For me, nothing is more lively than death.

ANDREJ GABOR

Hi, my name is Andrej and I’ve been living in Amsterdam since 2016. I’m originally from Bratislava, Slovakia, and I’ve been into photography for more than 10 years. Most of my work focuses on portraits of women, but over the past year I’ve found my way back to street photography — something I now try to capture using an analog camera.

Shooting on film is a completely different process. It forces you to slow down, think more carefully about the right moment and the composition. And you have to wait to see the final result — which is exactly what gives analog photography its unique charm. That’s also why more and more people are falling back in love with it.

LENNART HAMAN

Meet Lennart: a mastering engineer whose exceptional aesthetic judgment and keen ear for detail allow him to craft sonic landscapes that truly reflect the essence of the music he works with.

In a world where many follow the same scripts and share the same public opinions, Lennart chooses a different path. For him, such conformity signals the need to forge his own way-where the journey holds more significance than the destination. This philosophy permeates not only his professional endeavors but also his approach to life, undisturbed by conventions or frames. It's a solitary road, but for Lennart, it's the only road.
